1960s Production Saloons
My father, Gaylord' Gay' Parker began racing in the early in 1960s, originally competing in hillclimbs and sprints.
By 1965, Gay was racing in Production Saloons with his Austin Mini Cooper S 970cc, regularly racing at Brands Hatch and Mallory Park with drivers such as Ginger Marshal, Peter Baldwin and Don Law. He continued to race with until 1971.
1970s Mini 7 850 Challenge
In 1977, with sponsorship from BL dealership BEWAC, Gay entered the Mini 7 850cc Championship with his mechanic friend Arthur Brown. He raced in this championship until he retired at the age of 50.
