Race History

Wayne has an extensive background in motorsport, with over 30 years experience in front wheel drive saloons, rear wheel drive GTs and two-driver endurance races. He is currently graded as an FIA Bronze driver.

He began competitive racing in 1990 in sprint and hillclimb events with an Austin Mini Special. In 1994 he progressed to circuit racing where he spent many years in the 1990s racing in the MG Metro championship. In the 2000s Wayne moved to racing rear wheel GTs, with a Jaguar XJS and also competed in speed events in a Jaguar XK8.

He has raced in numerous different championships, including MG Metro Championship, MG Cup, 750MC Road Sports, CSCC Modern Classics and Classic Touring Cars. He has competed in many endurance races including the Spa 6 hours weekend in Belgium. In 2005 he tested with the MotorsTV Lingmann Motorsport team in France for the Nurburgring 24 hours. During his racing career he has secured many class wins, poles and fastest laps.

In more recent years Wayne returned to racing front wheel drive saloons with a Rover BRM and speed events in a Jaguar F-Type R. Wayne has always competed with British saloon and sports marques and these include Austin Mini, MG Metro, MG ZR, Rover Metro GTI, Rover BRM and Jaguar XJS, XK8 and F-Type R

Previously Wayne was a grade 'A' ARDS race driving instructor, providing circuit tuition and worked as a Pro Driver for car manufacturers.

Wayne's father Gaylord 'Gay' Parker raced with success in 1960s production saloons with a Mini Cooper S 970cc. He later raced in the British Leyland Mini 7 Challenge in the 1970s through to the early 1980s, twice as a support race to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
